William Lassell (1799-1880) was born in Bolton in 1799 and became an amateur astronomer and a
telescope maker. His 48-inch f/9.4 open tube Newtonian mount reflector was originally installed in the grounds of his Liverpool villa and at the time was the largest telescope England.
Lassell produce a collection of drawings of nebulae using the telescope, eventually the instrument was transported to the island of Malta to take advantage clearer skies.

This model of the Lassell telescope has been produced as a low prim build for the virtual world, and will be a point of interest for any sim that has an astronomical or education theme. If you have any questions, please contact Skipper Abel in Second, please see accompanying CC licence and enjoy.
